Usage Context
History
While the standalone kiss mark ๐ has been part of the standard since 2010, the ability to combine skin tones for couple emojis arrived later with Unicode 10.0 in 2017. This update was a major push to make digital communication more inclusive by allowing users to accurately represent a wider array of interracial couples.
